Private Custom Italy Tours in Tuscany

A visit to Tuscany is on almost everyone’s bucket list. Spectacular landscapes that have inspired artists for centuries; the city of Florence full of art, history, and iconic landmarks like the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio; the world class wine regions of Chianti and Brunello; picturesque hilltop towns like San Gimignano and Montepulciano; Siena, Pisa - the list goes on. Plenty to do and see, the trick is to see it as a “Slow Traveller”, on a different pace than the larger bus tours. Kathy and Vernon plan our small group adventures to see the best of this region at our own pace. We explore the lovely countryside during the day, and arrive at a destination like Cortona in the late afternoon. This time of day there are fewer tourists, the local emerge, and we enjoy a leisurely evening wandering the now quiet streets and exploring the local wines at a favorite enoteca. We've designed cycling tours, walking tours, and tours for mixed groups - everyone can find something to love about Tuscany!

Best activities: Walking, cycling. Tuscany is hilly, we recommend e-bikes for more casual cyclists.

Best time of year: April through June, September and early October. July and August are busy, and in the past few years the weather has been quite hot during these months, with long stretches of 100°F temps.

Visiting off-season: Walking tours combined with city visits are possible year round.
